Where you can go for repairs:
If you are renting from Music & Arts, you need to take repairs back to them. The info below is for those who own or are borrowing their instrument. Anyone can take a repair to Music & Arts. They will do a fantastic job, but it is expensive.
Raleigh- Marsh Woodwinds
Marsh is located at 707 N. Person Street. They are open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-6pm. This is by far, the cheapest place to go for repairs. If it turns out to be a quick fix, they will often do it while you wait but be prepared to "go with the flow." If you have a schedule to follow, then drop it off and come back for it later. Be sure to tell them if you are planning to come back the same day. Make sure they write a tag for your instrument or your instrument may get overlooked. They are very busy and very laid back. Like I said, be willing to go with the flow. It's worth it. They do great work for a great price!
Durham- Keith Longmire (919) 418-3426
Keith is a retired band director and clarinet player who now repairs and sells instruments. His studio is close to Duke. He does afforable repairs and guarantees his work. I believe he specializes in woodwinds, but you can always call and ask about brass repairs.
